Reza Shah rides crowned in a gilded carriage, mace in hand, the young Mohammad Reza seated beside him and a parasol held above them both. White horses draw them forward through a mounted escort, and Lion and Sun standards run the length of the procession — the founding of a dynasty painted as a Safavid manuscript page rather than recorded as it happened.
The artist sets the scene against the arcades of Naqsh-e Jahan in Isfahan, and builds it entirely in the language of classical Persian miniature: a gold-leaf sky with scrolling cloud bands, no single vanishing point, figures stacked up the page instead of receding into it, and a full tazhib border enclosing the painting the way an illuminated manuscript would.
