Persian Art Bazaar is an ongoing effort to map Iran.
It spans the Persepolis of Darius and the quiet tea houses of Tabriz, the poetry of Ferdowsi and Forough, the scent of saffron and sour cherries. You will find Isfahan’s bridges, Yazd’s windcatchers, and the rice fields of the Caspian. It covers the span of Cyrus and the Sassanids, the Safavids and the Qajars, the Pahlavis and the modern era—three thousand years of a civilization that has continually reinvented itself while staying recognizably, beautifully itself.
Nothing is left out here. The pre-Islamic roots, the Safavid masterpieces, and the vibrant Tehran of the mid-20th century all belong to the same shared story. Cyrus’s cylinder and the simple bowl of food your grandmother made are both part of our heritage, worthy of being remembered and celebrated.
The heart behind this shop is simple: culture thrives when it is celebrated in full. When history is narrowed or flattened into a headline, something vital is lost. What survives is what we cherish, repeat, and invite into our everyday spaces—hung on a wall where a child or a curious guest can ask, “What is that?”
